Yes, larger files would cause a synchronization difficulty between audio and video. Once you got into the habit of closing all Drag-to-Disc - the program-box and the systray icon - never a problem. Going back to version 8 of Pinnacle, I quickly discovered that Drag-to-Disc needed shutting down before loading Pinnacle (assuming both installed) - or it would cause a freeze with Pinnacle. I'm also one who removes drag to disc after installation as I don't use it.

I'm not sure what you like in Pinnacle or what you like in EMC but as it's obviously video you do mostly, why not give the Trial a try. I have had some audio sync issues but they are few and I get around them by working with smaller sizes of files. EMC9 is similar to 8 in many ways but I find Videowave much faster when working on MPEG files. I haven't used Pinnacle since many versions back but found it extremely buggy and yes, tech support was the pits. I have not fully explored this feature in Roxio yet. Studio seemed better for editing and trimming video clips, and you could "re-synch" the audio and video tracks.

I would need to call tech support to "get there." If Roxio does everything Pinnacle did, I can dump Pinnacle and follow the K.I.S.S. The upgrade for version 9.x to version 10.5 will not install. There had been some features in Roxio 7 or 8 which I liked and was able to use, and other features in Pinnacle Studio that seemed lacking in Roxio.
PINNACLE STUDIO 9 SUPPORT HOW TO
I've had licenses to both Roxio and Pinnacle software, and discovered how to use them both on the same machine without fouling up the machine or each other.
